Everybody loves Wrocław, in the west of Poland, and we know exactly why. This beautiful city’s Bohemian, Austrian and Prussian influences create their own character. Wrocław sits on the Odra River and has 130 bridges, 12 islands and numerous riverside parks, and for these reasons it’s known as ‘the Venice of the North’.
Further east, back towards Kraków, is Katowice, which at first glance seems to be quite an unattractive place. But let’s not fall into easy stereotyping here. This city, in the Upper Silesia region’s Industrial District, has a lot to show for itself, including some of the most interesting modern architecture in the country. Historically speaking, you can also find yourself closer to the post-communist transformation process, here in ‘the Polish Chicago’.
So come with us and try to catch one of Wrocław’s legendary Dwarfs, participate in a medieval battle, quaff some superb locally-brewed beer and explore the deepest history of Upper Silesia. It’s an unforgettable experience.
Arrival in Wrocław, transfer to hotel. Check-in at the hotel. Guided tour of Wroclaw, seeing all the main tourist attractions. Lunch at a local restaurant in the Old Market Square. Fun, location-based game known as ‘Wroclaw’s Dwarfs’! Free time in the city centre. Dinner at a local brewery. Overnight stay in Wroclaw.
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit in highest point of Wrocław – Sky Tower. Guided tour on Segways. Lunch at a local restaurant. Visit in Hydropolis. Evening cruise on Odra River with drinks. Dinner at a local restaurants.
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Katowice. Guided tour of Ogrodzieniec Castle. After the tour we’ll have an opportunity to participate in a reconstruction of a medieval knight’s tournament. Lunch at a local restaurant, with traditional Upper Silesian dishes. Transfer to hotel. Check-in and free time.
Dinner at a local restaurant.
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Nikiszowiec. Tour of Nikiszowiec and ‘Questing’. Lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch we depart to Zabrze. Guided tour of the Guido Mine. This is a historic deep coal mine and museum in Zabrze, and an Anchor point on the ERIH (European Route of Industrial Heritage). We’ll take an underground tour at depths of 170-320m – the deepest tourist route in a coal mine in Europe! We’ll see mining machines, an electric underground railway and much more. Refreshments will be in the deepest pub in Europe, the K8 Pub on the mine’s 320th level. Transfer to Katowice. Dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight stay in Katowice.
Breakfast at the hotel. Check-out and transfer to Wroclaw. During the transfer we’ll visit the Tyskie Brewery. The Tyskie Browary Ksiazece is a special place, with a history of brewing dating back almost four hundred years. It was established in 2004 and is also part of the ERIH (European Route of Industrial Heritage). Lunch at a local restaurant. Transfer to Wroclaw Airport. Return flight home.
