Breakfast in the hotel, check-out. Zelazowa Wola, an estate 50 km from Warsaw which was the birth place of Frederic Chopin. Today it’s a museum where visitors can see family portraits, documents and several of the composer’s manuscripts. Transfer to Poznan. The city of Poznan is famous for its International Fair. Prince Mieszko I, Poland’s first prince, built the biggest castle in the country here, in the 10th Century. Visit the Old Town and see the Market Square and Town Hall, the parish church of St. Stanislaus and the famous Ostrow Tumski (‘Cathedral Island’), site of one of the first capitals of the Piast royal dynasty. The cathedral features a Byzantine-style Golden Chapel, which contains the tombs of the first Polish kings. Dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight stay in Poznan.

Breakfast in the hotel, check-out. Transfer to Czestochowa. Visit to the Paulins’ Monastery in Czwstochowa on Jasna Gora hill, where we’ll see the famous painting of the Black Madonna. After that, we’ll visit Wadowice (Pope John Paul II’s hometown, and then onwards to Zakopane – Poland’s winter capital! Festive dinner with live folk music. Overnight stay in Zakopane.

Breakfast in the hotel. Sightseeing in the thousand-year-old city of Cracow. The layout of its Market Square (the largest of its kind in Europe) and the surrounding streets, has remained unchanged since its foundation. We’ll walk from the Market Square, along the Royal Route to Wawel Castle, up on Wawel Hill. From 1333 to 1609, Wawel Castle was the home of Poland’s rulers and the seat of their power. Wawel Cathedral, sited next to the castle is also where they were crowned, and eventually buried. From the top of one of the cathedral’s towers – the Sigismund Tower, you can enjoy a stunning panoramic view of the city. In the afternoon, we’ll ride over to the Kazimierz district – the centre of Jewish religion and culture in Cracow, and once a separate town. Dinner at a Jewish restaurant, with live traditional Jewish music. Overnight stay in Cracow.
Breakfast in the hotel. Transfer to Wieliczka Salt Mine, which is listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The Wieliczka Salt Mine offers a great experience, touring the medieval galleries and halls hewn into the rock and salt deposits deep underground. The only salt mine in the world preserved in such good condition, Wieliczka’s tunnels lie 135 meters underground and are visited by more than a million tourists every year. Return to Cracow’s Old Town for a farewell dinner at the world-famous Wierzynek Restaurant. Overnight stay in Cracow.
